I have a new '21 XC40 T5 with less than 1k miles on it, about 1 month old. It has the auto start/stop feature turned on which has behaved perfectly to date. Today I was in traffic and stopped at a red light. Engine shut off. When light turned green and I stepped on the gas, the vehicle wouldn't move. Speedometer and tachometer went blank and there was a message at the top of the instrument cluster that said:
Vehicle Start Button
Push Vehicle Start Button
I could not accelerate until after pressing the start button with the brake, the car re started and then I could drive.
Volvo on call support said this is unknown behavior and I should bring it in for service. Has anyone experienced anything like that? Was pretty unnerving esp since it's a brand new car.
