I've just bought the Dolby processor for an SC-901 head unit (complete with bracket), but after 15 minutes with a flashlight & much searching I still haven't a clue as to where to install it! I know it's located "in front of the heater core, behind the radio" and I've found a bunch of dead links to non-existent pictures, but there the trail runs dry.

Does anyone have a picture of the installed unit (even the basic orientation would help) or could describe in detail which way up it goes and where the bolts attach? I'm normally fairly handy but this one has me baffled...

It's being installed in a 1998 V70 T5, FSM willing.

Re: SC-901 Dolby processor installation??? (BEJinFbk)

BEJ makes a good point. Not much sense in going Pro Logic, if you don't have a center speaker--which requires a different dash or cutting a hole in the one you have...

Re: SC-901 Dolby processor installation??? (BEJinFbk)

No - I plan to use it for the back channel ambience at the moment, but if a 3990 dash with a center channel speaker were to appear, I'd jump on it. Erievolvo have one for $150 but it's Oak...

I eventually worked out the install thanks to VS guidance. Looks like a good place to strap the xovers & ipod interface too, until the heater core leaks

Edit - it actually sounds very good indeed, gives the rear door speakers something useful to do...

Edit 2 - no, it sounds superb. I'm astonished at how much difference it makes, and as a sound engineer & long-time home theatre owner I wasn't expecting all that much - it's ProLogic after all. Having said that, I was enjoying the music so much I wasn't being all that critical...
