My old roomate has/had one for sale (dark red?) I think it's turbo was on its last legs, but other than that it was in good shape, 160K miles. Pretty nice looking cars <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/smile.gif"><P>

The one I saw today was on HWY 101 between Shallow Alto and Mt. View California. It was driven by a severe-looking asian women wearing a Hermes scarf.<P>It was white, tan interior.. the badging was removed from the back (so I didn't know if it was a 780 or whatever). But it was <B>very</B> clean looking... I'd say in perfect condition.<P>All the sudden I want one. I don't know why... but I just do. Maybe it was the scarf? Heh. Heh. <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/wink.gif"> <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/smile.gif"><P>

Most parts were manufactured in Italy and they are priced exorbitantly, like the car was. Imagine this; a two-door 740 (because that's what it really was) costing over $40,000!!! A$$inine!<P>Yannis<P>

Before buying a 780 do lots and lots and lots of research!!!!!! Don't jump into it too fast. I'm telling you this from experience!! YES! cosmetic parts costs an exorbitant amounts of money! DO no buy a v-6, get the turbo 4. It costs less to service the turbo 4 too. If the electric seats do not work, don't even think about buying the car cuz a stupid little button costs $600 with labor. and the part (heck all the parts) are shipped from Italy. I bought my 1989 780 v-6 like.. a year and a half or two years ago and it was with me for less than a year... and was forced to sell it because it caused me too many problems, but it was a gorgeous car! the prv6 kept leaking and had problems with the interior... stupid stupid seats! It only had like 140 K on it too. It also didn't help when my roomate accidently did a 360 on I-10 to LA going 90 mph! It messed up my front spoiler, exhaust and probably did some horrible thing to the engine too. Anyway I had a love and hate relationship with the car. I still want one! My advice... get a turbo, make sure the seats work, the cushions are still cushy, the electrical components work, and look for the details because as I said b4, cosmetics costs LOTS of money. It's rare to find any used parts on the net, heck or even this vehicle! I know like a year or so back there was these two listings for a white bertone all fixed up and in really good condition for $26,000 with very few miles and a black that was garaged for the longest time for about $20,000. anyway i wish you the best of luck if you do buy a 780.

When it comes to the seats, you can probably do something like this...<BR> <A HREF="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/000164.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/000164.html</A> <P><BR>From the sounds of it, you want to make sure you have a couple used Volvo parts places as your best friends.
