I've actually seen it before but I saw it again today driving here in London on my way home from work.
It's a red two door with what looks to be a chopped down black cloth covered roof. I think it is one those rare Bertone models. It looked beautiful. It was moving but it looked to have the same five spoked rims that was on my folks '82 240 GLT so I estimate it is a early-mid 80's model.
I REALLY like the look of this 240. The red seems to compliment it better than any other 240 I have ever seen.
Is this an exremely rare car, I've seen this one a few times over the last 5 years maybe, always a stand out. How much would it be worth?

Bertones are rare. I don't know about extremely rare. Value is definitely higher than a 242 but, like everything else, depends upon condition. Seems like I see one for sale about every six months or so. Check out a Hemmings Motor News. They always have one of everything for sale. I also see them in the VCOA newsletter (Rolling) occasionally.

I think it looks like the "gangster 240". It such a standout with that roofline. I think I would buy one in the future. Some aftermarket rims, suspension and good turbo that would be a hell of a lot of fun! I suppose this is true of any 240 but I personally like the look. I picture black leather in that car, hope I see it parked someday so I can have a closer look
