I would go see the factory tour. The safety center would be a total jip. Especially since they only crash a car every so often. More impressive to see the robots building cars. Plus the tram drives right by the saftey center on the way into the factory. So you wont miss out on anything.

The paperwork I recently received says: "The all new Volvo Brand Experience Center will replace the Factory Tour."
??? I really wanted to go on the Factory Tour.

??? I really wanted to go on the Factory Tour.

The factory tour availability is dependent on what sections are "under construction"....or being re-tooled for the changes on new models...or perhaps being tested for effeciency and quality control.
I have not done the Volvo Brand Experience....so don't have an opinion...I have heard pros/cons. In any case...the Swedish Meatball lunch is worth the time invested. I personally enjoy a quick trip to the Employee Store (in the same main parking area as lunch).
If you are still in dire straits for something to do......I have some suggestions.

Definitely go to the factory store. It is worth it, like Bob said.
Of course being the idiot that I am, I bought a gray Volvo golf shirt, but I didn't notice the label on the side that says - Used Truck Division.
So now I look like I sell used Volvo heavy equipment.
Hey Bob, are there are any R shirts anywhere to buy? I'd love to get my hands on one.

It could mean a trip to the factory or......when the factory is closed...a trip the the store after the meat ball lunch. It's too vegue. Call up Volvo and find out what the details are on that experience. Then you could make a sound descission.

It took me 20 minutes contemplating on whether to buy the dual S60 R electric race track with the ATSPEED car and a stock car. One of those funny things that I'd never play ...but I wanted it soooo bad.
I emailed the FDC, specifically asking about the factory tour, and they responded that I should let them know my flight information so they can have someone pick us up, no mention about the factory tour at all. Hmmm. I think I'll wait until September and ask again, since they don't seem to know or at least wont tell me yet.
What suggestions do you have?

I would wait till September if you want the Factory tour. The factory is closed from july to august due to retooling for the new year models.

I saw that racing set at the factory store, but then wondered how I'd get it home. I went to the store twice- once when we picked up the car and then a second time to buy my R watch when we dropped the car off for home delivery.
Getting back to the original question- we did the factory tour and it was great!
