Not an S80R but it looks like Volvo have given the S80 some of the V70 R-Design cues. I would really like to see the blue gauges offered in the US.
I hope they post some pics of the seats and full interior once they get the page sorted out.
http://www.volvocars.com/intl/....aspx

You can buy the blue gauges as an accessory. I saw it on the volvo accessory page one time (I posted a link too a while back. Just a matter of finding it. )
But I love that steering wheel. Looks nice!

Getting the gauges is the easy part. Seeing if the computer will download the necessasry software for the gauges to work is the "gray" area.

The R design gauges are exactly like our current gauges (two screens, floating needles, etc.). You would just need to get the odometer calibrated and swap the two. Its the exact same hardware, just a different face.

.... now how hard would it be to tighten the suspension, beef up the AWD, and up the 315 hp 4.4L v8 to 450-500?!?!?

That, and just like the previous gen S80's T6, the torque characteristics of these turbo six cylinders can be quite brutal to any transmission. So upping hp/tq numbers could just prove to be a killer move.

The HPT version has it on both valves.
But good point on torque.

I cannot vouch for the validity of that number but I am sure the transmission could handle at least 375lb-ft without the need for any beefing up.
With BMW's 3.0 turbos andd Audi's 3.0 supercharged engines Volvos T6 needs a little bump in the output numbers to stay competitive. That little bump in output should be at least 10% more that what the current V8 kicks out. Just my humble opinion.

When you purchase a $50K+ car, you should be satisfied with the power output. Its acceptable to purchase a $25K Camry (Magoon - here's your opportunity to come in. ) and not be content with the engine output, but when you're move into the luxury/semi-luxury market, the power should be beefed up!

They probably won't because it would involve some redesigning. They might even have to decrease the displacement a bit to handle the higher boost, if they increase it.
