i was thinking of getting an V70 AWD instead of my S70 R! . MY car has had so many problems! the V70 is in tip top shape exterior and intertior wise. i still didnt get a chance to test drive it and look at the engine bay. i was thinking of a trade in. that way ill get the GLT( manual), and some $$$ diffrence! what do you guys think? stick to the R? or get the V70 AWD?
they are both very nice cars, very good condition. its just that the R has givin me so much trouble, and im not willing to send it back to the dealership for fixing anytime soon. its been with me for a year. i havent drivin it for four months in all! thats not good

What year V70AW? If it's an early year, stay away from it...bevel gear, viscous coupling, etc.....they're bad news...plus wasn't your goal to get your car (R) to go faster and faster? You ain't going to do it with the lpt.

Re: S70 R or V70 GLT AWD?? (Ishtta)

I would stick with the s70R, you already dumped a bunch of money into it, and if you get another car you will have to do the same.

Re: S70 R or V70 GLT AWD?? (dicostal)

Good point. thats the only thing holding me back. if i get the V70, ill have to spend some $$$ to make it good enough for me. the S70 R is already good enough for me, its just breakin down too much. i guess im giving it ONE LAST CHANCE. if one more tranny busts im going to replace it under warrenty and sell it! so i guess ill just have to wait and see

You were getting a tranny anyway and you didn't do a manual swap? If I missed it, I'm sorry, but did you say you couldn't due to the warranty?

I'm sorry but I still don't understand why the manual swap "isn't possible." Does the dealership just not know how to do it because it IS possible.
Either way, good luck in whatever decisions you make regarding the V70
