The only way on a 98 is to take it to the dealer....of course they'll charge you. See if you can find an independent mechanic who specializes in Volvos....they might have the gizmo that resets the light and they'll probably do it for free. You can also fork over about $200 to IPD for a reset tool. There's also some OBDII software out their that someone customized to be able to reset the service light on Volvos. The software is also suppose to have all kinds of diagnostic tools. I think the website is www.obd-2.com
