Engine spec: b5254t

My s70 with 126000 miles has been dying on me suddenly mostly at coming to a stop. But it will also do it at speed and while idling. The "check engine" light will come on sometimes but it will go automatically reset in a few days. the code says it the MAF Sensor. It looks to me like it should be the coil amplifier module, the MAF should make the car run rough. My car runs perfect all the time except for this. Any help out there, seems this should be very common.

Best Wishes

Re: s70 glt 1998 stalls or dies (zahid_volvo)

Well, if the code states MAF, why do you think it's not? MAF is a common problem and you had a good mileage out of it When I had MAF failure (on 78000) the car stalled on low speed, idling and when the engine was hot I had a hard time to start it. Also post your question in the car model forum (S70)- you will get more responce.

Good Luck

Re: s70 glt 1998 stalls or dies (Papa_Kirlo)

Kirill,
Thanks for the reply. I have bought a new MAF sensor but am having a hard time removing the clip that holds the connector. Can you give a a quick rundown or point to a website that explains the details. I'd hate to break it. Also in whats the procedure for removing the old MAFS.
Thanks
Zahid
