I need recommendations on where to buy shocks and springs for my 98 T5. I am thinking of the Sport Bilsteins or Touring and lowered springs. Can someone recommend source besides IPD? I already bought their bars and thinking of Eichback springs as well (I think they bough the entire lot), but most concerned about shocks. I don't want something super stiff, more goos stable sport ride and occassional autocross. Thanks

Re: S70/98 T5 - Shocks and springs Recommendations (tundra)

H&R springs plus Bilstein tourings make a nice combination.
Try doing just the front first

I am quite happy with IPD/TME Sport Springs and Bilstein HDs.
Ride is a very subjective topic so beware.
With 17" summer tires this car corners like it is on rails. The only time the ride is bothersome is over poor railroad tracks. I just slow down for those.

My wife and I have Koni adjustables and H&R springs on her S70T5...on 16" wheels the car is firm (Koni adjustment about 1/2 way between soft and rock.)
With 17" Volans and S0-3 tires...it's a little harsh but is sweet in the twisty back roads.
I've done IPD springs with the Bil HDs and it was even more harsh...
JRL has the right idea for $$$ and comfort. Currently I'm doing the TC shocks on my C70 and factory springs (till summer) and it's great...even on the 17" w/ SO-3s. With the IPD springs...it was decent but I still want to go lower and a little different than everyone else.
Cheers,
Prospero

Re: (Prospero)

I have bilstein HD's and H&R Sport springs on mine. This combination took some getting use toat first, especially on the incredibly rough "not been re-paved for the last 20 years" Los Angeles roads. I love it now though, I actually wouldn't trade them for anything. It really all depends on your driving style, I tend to drive more aggresively, and like hugging turns. I bought mine on Shox.com, not sure how their prices are now, but when I got them they had really good deals on sets or individual combinations.
~Matt

If I were to do my car I would get the Shocks & Struts-Bilstein (TC), by the way shocks are on sale at http://www.ipdusa.com , and I would get the Eibach Springs. I am planning on doing this my self hopefully before the end of the year. Let me know how you make out, I would love to know. Good Luck!
