Arnaud - she's looking real good. See what type of service history you can track down. The more you know the easier it may be to make a decision on whether to buy it or not.
I'd definately change the trans fluid if it has never been done. If it was done at 30k, it should probably be changed at 60k.
Make sure the trans shifts ok, no odd things happening when shifting. 97kms/50k miles is not a whole lot of miles for a '98. Check out Edmunds.com and KBB.com to see comments about that particular year.
good luck!
Hi,
thanks for the answer.
The seller told me the front shocks absorbers are new, and so are the discs. Tyres are almost new.
He said no repair to schedule on this car.
Thanks for the trans fluid info, I'll check that.
 Arnaud

Definitely check the brake rotors and pads. Take the car for a test drive and do some high speed heavy braking to see if the rotors are warped. If there's a lot of vibration when braking, the rotors are most likely warped.

that's a lot of miles for a 98 S70. When and if you want to do a blue book check on it (the dealer SHOULD be able to do it for free), Make sure it's suffered no flood damage. an underbody check of the car is a good idea too.
98 S70s are known to have electrical problems, and there is currently a recal on the headlight and tail light sockets for that model and year.
How do I know? I bought a 98 S70, JUST like yours. Great car, and real reliable. I'm keepin it for a very long time.

You think 60,000 miles is a lot for a '98? only about 12k per year - that's not too bad for a 5 year old car. But I guess 12k a year could be a lot to some depending on their daily commute.
We've got 37k on our '99 S70 and I would consider that on the low side for a four year old car. I probably avg. 25k per year myself, my wife much less. My definition of high mileage may be skewed.
