The S60R is now using a new KKK Turbo. I wonder if this turbo can be swapped for the Mistsubishi unit used in the T5? That would be interesting!
-Drew
ARGGHHHHHH...they are using KKK just like the VW/Audi/Porsche guys?!
It shouldn't be a big deal if the flanges are the standard type. Not exactly expert enough to say which turbos have same turbine flanges, but I now use Garrette turbo instead of Mitsu from factory...they both have T3 flanges. That should answer your question.
I wonder if they are using a KO4 or KO3 turbo like Audi or new type of KO-X turbo.
IIRC, the B5 A4/S4 uses a KO3 and the TT 225 uses a K04. I know that a lot of those S4 owners have been upgrading to KO4's for much improved performance.
-Drew
Blitz also used KKK turbos, but I just like the Mitsu or Garrett ones better. Heheh...easier to understand from the part number.
I think A'PEXi use IHI, Trust/GReddy -> Mistu; HKS -> Garrett; Blitz -> KKK....right?
Don't know..maybe it's just b/c I haven't tried out the other ones yet.
Prior to 2001, IIRC, the B5 platform was on a K03 turbo. They have since gone with a K03/K04 hybrid to give the increase in HP. They went from 150hp to 180hp stock. The hybrid K03/K04 is the reason for this change.
Ron
