I'm starting to really hate the look
of the shifter in the S60R. Is this
shifter in any other Volvo? How likely
is it that I will be able to replace
it with a conventional leather shift
boot?

Once you hit the 7700 RPM limiter and discover that you can change gears in no time you want it to be ALU then it already is.

After 5 minutes you do not notice it anymore but a lot of people think it's an AT or a sequential GB.

I hadn't seen any recent Volvos, so I
didn't know that the S60 T5 had the shifter
as well.

All of the areas down there on my 850
get full of grime and grit - is there
any problem with stuff getting caught
under the lip and either scratching
the surface, preventing a shift, or
seeping down under the cover into the
transmission? On my 850, that area is
right under the coffee holder, for
example.
