Took my s60r to the agent to check the electronic shocks the other time, they did a shock dampening test and indicates it's all good and dampening is ok at 70,000 miles on it.

Volvo agent also told me that it is unecessary to change shocks as it is controlled automatically by the electronics on the dampening required based on the 4C selected options.

Anyone has any other opinion on this? Generally shocks should last around 70,000 miles but the R shocks seems to be holding out extemrely well.

When the struts start to leak is when they go bad. They also get noisy and complain over every bump when they are shot.

All depends on the roads you drive on and a ton of other factors. Some last 40-50,000, some tend to last longer or shorter. I'm almost at 110K and my original shocks are still decent (no leaks, little noise from shot spring seats) besides needing new spring seats and a suspension refresh soon.

You might need a SUM recal.
