after months of research I’ve narrowed it down to three options 1) buying a 4t3/9 and swapping the r oil pan and head and calling it a day 2) the same as option 1 but swapping in the crank and rods from the 4t4 for the 93.5 mm stroke 3) or throwing k1 forged conrods wiesco forged pistons and the 4t4 crank for a built 4t3/9 with the better 93.5 mm stroke. If you guys could let me know what ballpark hp/tq numbers i could make reliably with each setup that would also be great

I’ll also mention that i want to run a big turbo setup and am aiming for ~500-600bhp but i would still be open to getting the ipd 4t4 turbo upgrade if those numbers aren’t attainable with any of the setups I mentioned

A tuner like Contrast or Rolling Motors would probably know specifics on numbers. Or a lurker like @dougy lol

450 o 500 is reasonable to do. Above 500 takes some patients and time. Not many good options for intake and Exhaust Manifold. Milletech is the go-to but aven heard back from Nikola, Trying to get some titanium exhaust tips

I think that with any of those options you can get to 500whp with stock intake/exhaust manifolds. I would go the forged rods and pistons route personally just for added insurance.

Doesn't re-volvo sell an R exhaust manifold with a T3 flange? And also doesn't Milletech make high-performance
intake and exhaust manifolds?

I'm sure they do, my point is that for 500whp you don't need an equal length exhaust manifold. That level of power can be reached with a stock manifold or a Japanifold. It may definitely require modification if the flange depending on your turbo. Mine are vband flanges welded to the manifold flange.
