I've yet to see an S60 with a body kit at my dealer, so I haven't really got a feel for how low it is, but after taking some pictures of my current Swede pulling into the driveway, it doesn't look good. The front spoiler is 7.5" off the ground and ~38" from the front wheels and it just barely clears. Does anyone have measurements of an R with body kit for comparison?

If you cannot take it at at least a 45 degree angle, you probably WILL it

i dont think you'll have a problem, especially if it isnt lowered. i have a kit and mine is lowered and have only scraped twice....although the last time sent my car to the doctor.

The front of my kit is 6 1/4" off the ground with the stock springs. I have a similar grade driveway as you and I clear my driveway with 3/4" spared. As long as you take it at an angle (and slowly) you will be fine! Get the kit. These cars are sooooo much better looking with the kit ! You'll be alright. Look... I've had kit's on 3 cars... one extremely lowered and you only really scrape the underneath portion. It won't make any noticeable damages unless you launching it out your driveway.
You also need to keep in mind that you'll receive worse damage on the freeways than you will on your driveway. Mainly from dirty air... like rocks, debris, popped truck tires, ect. Eventually you'll get some damage... but nothing you need to worry about.
Important thing is get the kit if it makes you enjoy the car better and use a tad bit more caution. Pretty soon it becomes habit.

Re: S60R Body Kit and my driveway - will they get along? (grave79)

Thanks for all the help so far. For anyone else who might be interested, I calculate an approach angle of 10.6 base on what limited info I have - that's going to be close, probably about 1/4" clearance. But it just looks too good not to have it. Now if I can just settle on a color.

That's nothing Cicada ... not something I would worry about. Not saying that he won't get scraps, but most of it will be un-viewable when your standing up looking at the car and he shouldn't be worried about if he likes the overall appearance.
The kind of damage I would be worried about is dirty air and not the small scrapes. Here is a shot of my bumper after being behind a truck that had one of the rear wheels go.
Impact Here:

Another impact point:

Also a small note. I'm lowered by a lot and have the after market body kit. I scrap the driveways here and there. You can see them in my photos in the same spots you have them, but it's not too bad when viewed from these angles.
