Here is a picture of the wooden trimmed steering wheel option for the S60. I don't think that I like it all that much. For some reason it looks out of place in the car. I think that the V70 version looks better. Anyways, here it is:

-Drew

I have mixed views on the wheel but after
you tell me what cost/installation is, it
will be definitve---I won't get it.

I too think it looks out of place in the S60.
BTW is it real wood? cos the other trim pieces in the S60 are simulated wood.
I never quite understood why Volvo would use fake wood at this price range. But then even the S80 uses it...

It looks tacky in S60's interior. I don't think it worths the installation cost considered it doesn't have the look and feel of a better leather wrapped steering.

I was interested in seeing this, as my opinion of the leather wheel is that it looks like plastic!
If you think the wood looks out of place now, wait until they switch over to the brushed aluminum for the interior trim!
Guess I don't have any great options...

My observations are this:
I agree the S60 wheel looks somewhat like plastic---but its leather.
The new Acura MDX (which I'd love to own)
has simulated plastic that looks very much like wood---the burl 'wood' shift knob (an
option) is real wood and it matches the
simulated plastic trim perfectly.
The MB C320 has real wood trim but its so highly polished that it looks like simulated wood to my eyes---and feels like it.
There must also be other examples. The point is---its real hard to determine
what's what considering how cosmetic tech-
nology has advanced. Personally, I am
not bothered by the trim look or composition
in the S60--there are too many other pluses.
As for the leather steering wheel that looks
plastic (here we go again), I've noticed that
it coordinates well with the plastic console.
No need to knit-pick it. Just enjoy it!!
