As Prodrive and Volvo continue to develope the S60 ETCC racecar, some new snags have arisen. Check out more info and find a picture of the car on our main page or in our motorsport section.

Hmm..interesting, so they decided to use those older style BBS wheels on this car? Well..maybe old for street trend, but I know many race cars out there still use that style of wheels.

I'm surprised that the rear spoiler is smaller than the 'race inspired' S40 we have here in the States.
j/k j/k.......

This car looks a lot more like it was set up for the BTCC rules (less race prepped) than the more modified format/rules that ETC has now adopted. This is a prototype car also, so it'll probably look different when the season starts.
Wow, that's awesome. I'd read somewhere about the S60 spec series in Sweden, but this is much more bigtime. Volvo needs to be in more motorsport, and this series could maybe be that. I remember the good ole days of BTCC when Volvo ran the stationwagons. How cool was that? I think Rydell drove them too.

Anyway, I always thought the Touring Car setup would do well here in the US, though the defunct NATCC never quite worked out. The format though rocks, because anyone who builds a sedan could technically run an entrant.

Remember Audi getting banned with AWD. In the beginning, the BTCC was open to any drive style (bimmers were rwd) and 4, 5 or 6 cyl as long as it was 2.0 liters. That flexibility rocked, and I wonder if Volvo would run the new Haldex system (or a variant) if AWD were allowed?

Volvo should join F1 or go to LeMans if they don't do this.

Jaguar/Ford is doing it now.

Right, Jaguar is in F1 and there are rumors of Aston Martin going to GT racing, so I doubt Volvo would compete there.

Typically, forget where I heard this, Volvo only wants to race series that won't hurt its safety image, such as the blow to Mercedes several years ago when the CLK GTR did a flip, and then did one again the next day. That killed MB's campaign, and I don't think Volvo wants that.

I now the CLK and TT have the great image of true sprot cars that can really fly.

That's why the CLK GTR quit Le Mans and newer TT has standard rear spoiler.

I think what they need are those "I believe I can fly" spoilers. I see few volvo owners are already doing jobs on that.
So, they pretty much take care of that issue.

That thing costs CAD$400 and it's very usual when you go picnic.
Anyway, I don't have the spoiler, I just took pictures of it when I stopped at the speedshop. From what I know, the spoiler belongs to an Accord.

Cool! Those look just like the wheels I recently bought for my 240!
