Received an IM request from iggy637 regarding alterable settings in a 2008 S60. Response was too large for IM so I thought I would post it.
This is not necessarily a comprehensive list, actual car needs to be hooked up to VIDA to see settings available. However, list should be reasonably accurate.
Note: as car needs to be hooked up to VIDA and will take shop time, Volvo Retailers will most likely charge a fee to alter settings.
List is in module order.
DIM (Driver Information Module)
Service Reminder Indicator conditions can be altered (e.g., mileage, engine hours, calendar days)
Temperature unit C/F
Trip computer units (when equipped), i.e., miles/km
Clock Display, 12/24 hours
CEM (Central Electronic Module)
Home Safe lighting duration
Daytime Running lamps on/off
Fuel Door lid locking time delay
Warning for low beam (Bi-Xenon only)
CCM (Climate Control Module)
Floor and defroster air distribution, residual heat
Heated seat settings
Remote Control Setting
Seat/Window memory, on/off
One step/two step door unlock
PAM (Park Assist Module) when equipped.
Front park assist automatically engages below 10 mph. Can be altered to shut off above 10 and not reactiviate until Reverse is selected
UEM (Upper Electronic Module)
Courtesy lamps length of time
Inner rear view mirror, amount of dimming (when equipped).
Again this is not a comprehensive list, there may be more/less settings on a given P2 car depending on the model year and model.
For the door unlock you mean 1 press vs 2 press on the remove for drivers / all doors? When I got my 05 S60 the dealer said there was no way to set it to 1 unlock press unlocks all doors rather then always having to double click. Do you know if this is available on an 05?

What about the afterblow setting? It can be changed, right? Also, I hear the DRL lamps can be disabled, correct? (Unless they are defeatable in an 08 model, and I don't know about it.)

thanks a ton! and yes the DRL's can be turned off on an '08, although i had to go to 4 dealerships before i found one willing to do it. they all said it was illegal which i argued made no sense.

Is this the fob, or the interior locks....My doors don't unlock from inside when I push the button. They do lock right away, but if I hit the door panel button, they just attempt to re-lock.
So, what is the 2-step unlock?
..........also, what is window memory?

You can disable the 'low beam out' warning light on HID-equipped cars??

actually they are speed sensitive for Autos too, not when you put them in Drive, and that one can be done by the owner, you don't need VIDA

I know on newer S60's (like my '08) with the key in position I or II hold down the lock button on the driver's door panel for several seconds (until a message appears in the driver information display)

Re: (landrumdh)

I have a copy of VADIS (2005 version) and reading the information on central locking, there is apparently an option for the doors to lock at 7km/h (or around that speed). Unfortunately, no instructions on how to change the settings.
I guess it might be something you have to bring to the dealer to do.

What really irritates me is the restrictions. I went to an indy shop and they were able to turn off my DRLs but they weren't allowed to give me the one click unlock software. I HATE pushing the button twice to get in to the passenger side. Only official Volvo dealers are allowed to put that software in, even though the indy shop pays like $9000 a year for their VIDA subscription. They literally got a message that said "you are not authorized to load this software" or something retarded like that.

I wish we had more of an enthusiast/tuner base, this whole thing would be cracked wide open and with a laptop and cable we could set up our cars any way we want.
