Shimon-interestingly the C30 was also tested in the UK. Something unique about UK roads???
from http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evos....html
Volvo S60
These are the very first photos of a heavily-disguised Volvo S60 caught on a roadway in the UK
Text: Automedia / Photos: Automedia23rd July 2009
When Volvo's sleek S60 reaches the dealerships, it will – except for the so-called 'suicide' doors – closely resemble the stunning concept shown at the 2009 North America International Auto Show.
With a 'coupe-like' roofline, the all new S60 will add sex appeal to the once boxy and somewhat boring Volvo line-up. The S60 will eventually be offered with a high-efficiency gasoline turbocharged direct injection 1.6-litre engine mated to a twin-clutch transmission. In addition, Volvo has said to expect new technology – including a collision warning system with full auto braking and pedestrian detection. Watch for the camouflage to come off – and the S60 to reach dealerships during 2010.
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evos....html

White car is a guess or rendering by a car magazine.
S60 is the second Steve Mattin car from volvo
But....it will be Peter Horbury doing the interviews when the car is launched!!!
That rendering sucks. The slash is backwards! And the Iron Mark is no longer "framed" like that. Also, why put German plates on it?

Note the interior door panel's similarity to the XC60's. I also like the top of the dash's more squared off, sportier lines and the placement of the SAT NAV screen.
T

I hope they don't use some cheap looking smaller screen on non-nav cars. And should this system work it's way into an XC60 or nexgen XC90, that they'll offer a reverse camera without needing to get nav.

Why would you post a VERY OLD picture of what is NOT going to be an S60?
We all know what it's going to look like and that ain't it!

I am hoping that the the final product is close enough to the prototype to still be eye catching
The rendering is sooo off, it will be nothing like that, and the prototype shows that especially the back end with the C pillar extending almost horizontally and cutting off at the trunk.
The interior looks good!

If one has other keys or anything else attached, it's just going to scratch the dash up and look bad to everyone in the car. When the XC60 came out, I figured Volvo had learned something as the slot was moved much lower. Still a bit high for my taste, but at least it was lower near the bottom of the screen and behind the steering wheel levers so it wasn't so in one's face. Funny how I googled XC60 dash images and right there on the first page, some real world pics showing the XC60 dash with the key in the slot and some other stuff attached to the key that will most likely eventually mark up the dash. That S60 pic above shows that "thing" near the middle to top half of the screen.
IMO, PCC is an expensive "fix" for those whom don't like the key slot placement.

Re: S60 prototype spotted in the UK (pattyweb)

I found the key fob for my P2 S60 much too large and unwieldy to fit on a keychain and, aside from the first month of ownership, have never had it attached to anything. So while I see your point, I can’t help but shrug. The PCC is an expensive fix, no keychain is the cheap fix. :\
I do know, however, that any new car I buy next will have keyless entry/start. The car key’s days are numbered.

Re: S60 prototype spotted in the UK (exizldelfuego)

I carry a P2 keyfob every day and find it to be comprable to others out there. I am fine with the way it is, as I only have 2 other keys attached.
Any in- dash setup as opposed to the column has the opportunity to rub. IMO, just make the PCC standard.
