Hey guys, I just got my 2002 S60 T5 and today I accidentally went to 3500 rpm and I have only travelled about 600 miles. Will this cause damage in the engine? And does turning the turbo on cause damage to the engine before the "break-in" period has ended? My leather sport seats are starting to have lines (wrinkles) on the side, is there a way to remove or prevent from this to happen again?
Thanks guys!

[This message has been edited by Mr. T5 (edited 11-14-2001).]

It is recommended to vary engine rpm's during the break-in anyway.

quote:
And does turning the turbo on cause damage to the engine before the "break-in" period has ended?

Turbochargers are not on/off, they are always spinning, but you really won't feel the boost until the engine gets the 'charged' air at higher rpm's. So, don't worry.

quote:
My leather sport seats are starting to have lines (wrinkles) on the side, is there a way to remove or prevent from this to happen again?

This is natural, as leather tends to do this, but make sure to keep the seats clean so that dirt does not get into the wrinkles and cause abrasion. Make sure to use a good leather conditioner like Lexol to keep the seats 'healthy'.
I hope this helps!
-Drew
Thanks! I appreciate it. I have few more questions if you don't mind, what is the official "break in" mileage? How often shall I do oil change?
And I was just on the highway and the car suddenly started vibrating (slightly, like when a car has no power and starts vibrating but i was on a flat highway). But once I turned off the engine and restart it, it was fine. Do you know what's wrong with it?

This has always worked for me.

quote:
And I was just on the highway and the car suddenly started vibrating (slightly, like when a car has no power and starts vibrating but i was on a flat highway).
