Do the 2005 S60 HID/Xenon Headlights fit the 2004 S60? If so I want them

Re: s60 headlights (assa55in)

Mechanically they should fit, and I'm sure someone has fitted the electricals too. IIRC one needs to drill a hole in the ballast to fool the computer not to show burned bulb message.

Re: s60 headlights (Mika)

so they should fit and work, if thats what your telling me?
And what do you mean by drill a hole in the ballast

As I said, they should fit mechanically, but you'll need the electronics too. This is one thing about electronics I have not cared to learn about so you'll need to do your homework (like searching the forum archives).

Here's a thread about C70 aftermarket HIDs. Some answers there:

Something here too:

Not yet. Today I went to the muffler shop and had them spot weld my stainless steel tip on, looks cool. I was just bummed that there wasn't enough clearance to level it out without risking it melting the bumper trim. I'm still waiting for some pics from Mika. I know how to do some basic wiring. I've hooked up aftermarket car stereos with amps to aftermarket speakers but that's about it. I've got the general idea but he was going to make an updated DIY for me. Good deal on the heads! You know the routine, when you get 'em on...pics, pics, pics! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Re: (Xcelerate)

Check you IM.

I spent most of today changing front springs to Eibachs, but had a chance to take some wiring pics. Right spring took 4 hours since I had some problems with the strut, and the left one took 45 minutes. Tomorrow's for rears...

Ya, and I also changed our XC90's right headlight... A productive day altogether.

Wow man! I wouldn't even attempt to change the springs myself. I got your IM, many thanks, awesome! Really appreciate it Mika! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif Same goes for everyone. I'll be sure to get the pics up when I can get everything installed, it's the least I can do.

Well, 'tis the second set of springs I'm putting there. I'm putting my Evolves for sale soon if anyone's interested.

Take good pics of the wiring you're doing, pass it on...

I only have a Cannon SD600 Elph 6 Mega pixel. But I will do that. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif My engine bay is really dirty. Maybe I should give it the once over with some Simply Green first before I show my undies to the world.

Re: (OSR)

OSR: The hex hole in the end of strut shaft was rounded from over tightening in previous install. If I gave up dremeling new grooves in there and filed a hex shape on the outside right away (to get the nut out) whole car would have been about 4.5 hours including lunch and a run to hardware store. I figured out a very nifty way to do the rears.

The picture you got is of an '05 halogen, the same I and Xcelerate gots now. He can pass it on and write up a nice pictorial based on my IMs

no wonder that took so long that , if you need help on the rears just let me know I have it down to halfhr each side
Image
the springs basiclly fall out of the back , the fronts are what take for ever the rears are just removing two bolts
Image

I did a write up on VS for them

Re: (OSR)

I did the rears on Sunday, but I guess I should've looked it up on VS. I dropped the inner ends of the control arms, was that how you did it? That required spring compressors, but it was very easy.

I have to go down to the dealer tomorrow to get the rubber seal for my driver side assemby. If they have it in stock I may start tomorrow, if not whenever they get it. The whole thing with pics & write-up may take me several days though, gotta do a little here and there when I can plus this will be the first time I've tried anything like this. (write-up included) Mika's instructions are great though, I think I can manage. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Also I found a better link to that drilling trick after you install HID's. The one on VVSpy is a little hard to follow and broken up over several threads, plus I couldn't find any pics in theirs. Without pics all the technical jargon is a little hard for noobs to follow, hehe. Here ya go.
