Anyone know how to take the grille of the read deck speakers? <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/zeroforum_graphics/screwy.gif" BORDER="0"> <br>I don't wana break anything on a brand new car!

You have to remove the entire "hat shelf". The grilles are built into it. Remove the rear pillar trim pieces (Torx screws behind the little SRS marked trim pieces) and then the shelf pops up. It is secured with snap connectors and locator pins.

Anyone know what size speakers these are or what size i can replace them with? Thanks!<p>-Jason

Could I pop some 6x8's in there or is it best just to leave them out and replace them with a sub...<p>-Jason

If you're a 2-ch. front seat occupied-only vehicle and don't care about high-end coming from the rear, leave them out and use the apertures as bass ports for a sub. If you're after surround (ProLogic/PLII), fidelity is going to suffer/suck<p>You're not going to fit 6x8's or 6x9's without some serious modification. Don't waste your time.
