Apologize if these pictures have already been posted... I only saw the shadow image and crystal dash before.

This is supposed to be close to 2010 S60 if the websites can be believed.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

All they need is a performance version of the T6 with 330hp, Haldex and a workable 4C and you have a new R, I would totally buy one of those...

Which of course means they won't make it...

Re: S60 Concept Car (Mika)

Its nice if its 400HP+, otherwise I think its too small. Should be the new S40 Concept.

Re: S60 Concept Car (MagoonR)

I'm with Kelly on this one, I like it. I'm imagining that car in Passion Red, with Black wheels and Nordkap interior = HOTNESS. I have not seen these pictures yet either, just the shadowed picture. I must have been under a rock for a while.

Gee, not biased towards that combo are ya, FastR?

Smash the front end and start over. Way too "in yer face". The rest of the car is pretty cool, just due to the details alone (e.g. "Viking Ship" headlights).

Re: S60 Concept Car (Forced5)

I like this VERY much. Must come out w/R version in first MY or else more and more folks will vacate the VOLVO brand for others. The R is already long in the tooth.

I just saw these, I missed them the first time. Holly$#@# they are nice. I would almost consider buying it just for them and the crystal inside. But the production model would never have such things.

I like it. Some people are a bit too averse to change, IMHO.

Cold Air Intake location? Hood scoop to help cool turbo?

330 hp..... why is volvo always behind by two years

Well, let's talk about that...

The new S4/S5 will only have 333 hp from a Supercharged 6. Less hp than current 340hp V8, but more torque.

The 335i, the Rs competition from BMW is really putting out 320-330 hp. (The M3 competes with RS4 now).

The current T6 has what, 281 hp? So a bump to 330 is a nice 50 hp jump, similar to what the R had over the T5. They may even increase power on the V8 if they put out an R version of T6.

So, 330 hp T6 is still competitive, and more importantly realistic IMO.

Have any of the tuners released tunes for the new T6 yet?

No, new technology windshield blow dryers to help remove water since the car doesn't come equipped with windshield wipers. The air dams collect air and then distributed it across the viewing surface.

Car not recommended for city driving.

Let me guess, its tied into the heartbeat monitoring system, and ajusts its level based on anxiousness of driver not being able to see.

Maybe it acts as a fog-horn to warn pedestrians as part of "city-safe" system, which automatically brakes if car senses slow moving object step in front of it...(seriously, that city safe will actually come on S60, fog horn probably not).

I don't believe any other tuner has cracked the T6's ECU yet...

hmmm, only 20 hp, maybe a stage 2? Nice bump in torque, what's the NM to ft lb conversion again?

Re: S60 Concept Car ("R" Kelly)

I was also thinking of the line of a placement to step up and clean off the roof lined glass.

I remember seeing a video at the Factory Delivery Center where they rolled a simulated moose over the top of the car. I would like to see the same video with this mock up.

What would be neat is if that glass was that new electric static glass... you know the one where hit the button and the glass is tinted solid?

Re: S60 Concept Car (KillerB)

Most of us drive to fast to survive a Moose anyways. Sure at <50 they should do fine, but how the hell you hit a Moose at <50? Not like you can't see the stinking thing a mile away. Black bears at night would be more of a problem, but low center of mass just destroys the front end.

Believe it or not... they run that moose test at a high speed in Sweden all the time.

While that's true, Audi & BMW are both notorious for underrating their engines. The S4 S/C only puts out 333, but somehow is a notch faster than the old, outgoing V8. I'm willing to bet it's a bit underrated.

Volvo, however -- we've seen a little OVERrating on these engines, for you R guys...
