This is the closest subforum l could find to clutches.

My 2006 s40 t5's clutch pedal doesn't come back up all the way. It doesn't happen all the time, but every now and then.

Is this a sign of the master cylinder going? The car has 160 000km on the clock, so not sure if it is the master.

Can it be clutch fluid. Maybe needing a topup and bleed?

Any advice will be welcome.

Try pumping the clutch to see if you can build up sufficient pressure to shift and have the pedal return to the upright position.

Could be as basic as low, bubbly, or dirty fluid. Though, not being able to shift is a bigger problem. Old fluid just makes things soft more than anything.
Could be the master cylinder, do you see any signs of leaking fluid on your pedal or floor?
Could also be the slave cylinder going out.

You can check your brake fluid reservoir to see where the fluid lever is.

If you haven't already, post this in the S40/V50 section. You're more likely to get help in the section based on your model, these specific areas of SwedeSpeed rarely see any traffic.
