i currently own a 2005 s40 with the stock 16" cygnus rim. i had a minor accident recently & i wanted to replace the rims. not sure if i want to stick with the same or move up to the sagittas (17").
for those who have the sagittas would the ride be much rougher due to the size of the rim & the lower profile tires?
what would the pros & cons be? please let me know.

This kinda topic has been discussed quite a bit in the past. I would do a search on the S40/V50 forum for ideas, but in the end it boils down to personal taste. Some thinks that 17" is perfect, others like 16", and there are those who can't live with anything less than 18".
Good luck!

I have the sagittas and I think they are just right the right size and look really good. the ride is perfectly comfortable. I think you'd be happy with the choice to go with the 17's

I have 4 saggittas WITH tires for sale. I can let them go pretty cheap with tires...
One of them has minor curb rash but other than that they are perfect. Includes the center caps too.
As for performance, they were really good to me. Lower profile tires arefine with them though I don't remember the recommended size.

Do you think having the enhanced suspension that comes with the sport/dynamic package (i think thats what it is called) is an important factor from moving up to 17'' ?

what exacly are you asking? it will make the ride stiffer and aditionally rough with 17's, however even with 17's and the volvo "sport " suspesnsion the ride was very pleasant, haha thats why i put on the h&r's

Otherwise some have said that they feel vibrations.

Re: (Pez)

The hubcentric rings will be ridiculously thin, like 65.6 to 64.1 mm (the exact numbers are in another post, I forget them). I could not find such rings anywhere. I was going to use Pegasus 17x8 wheels and went as far as purchasing 66.06 to 64.1 (or somesuch) mm hubcentric rings from 1010tires. I was going to have a friend custom-machine the outer diameter so that they would fit properly inside the wheel, but I ended up deciding that Pegasus 17x8 at 27 pounds or so was too heavy (18x8 is even heavier) (stock 17x7 wheels are about 22 pounds). I went with another wheel from tirerack, who supplied the correct (in this case larger) hubcentric rings.
If you decide to go the Pegasus route, AND you cannot find hubcentric rings specifically for this conversion, AND you want hubcentric rings (highly recommended), AND you want to buy rings like what I bought and then have them machined for the proper O.D., THEN let me know!!!!! I'll sell for less than 1010tires for sure.
Bassman
Re: (V50_T5)

Yep they fit fine and i didnt have to roll the fenders. Originally i wanted 235's, but the tire shop ran out, so they tried 245's and they fit fine without any rubbing.
Ive had them for a week now and have had no problems at all.
