Running Boards/side step for xc90 R design

apparently, volvo's running boards do not fit the 2009 R design model. Can anyone offer a fix or suggest aftermarket supplier for bolt on running boards or side step. Low enough, but have older members in my family who find it difficult to get in.

I wonder if this has to do with the grey/silver piece that covers the rocker panels on the R model. I checked on buying those for my XC90and they really were expensive.

You would probably have to remove R model grey/silver rocker panel cover to install Running boards. I recommend you see if they can be removed and the running boards would fit.

If so I would be interested in purchasing the R model grey/silver rocker panel covers. How's that for a deal.

From what I remember they do fit, but they don't look very good over the trim piece. I remember somebody posted a pic.
