Hi,
Does anybody notice that when the car is cold (overnight) that changing from 1st to 2nd gear is a bit rough? also has anyone mistakenly put the car in reverse rather than 1st gear?
Re: 1st to 2nd being rough
http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Vol....html
But it includes removal of the Gear Box !!!!
Has anyone had this done? I don't really fancy my dealer removing and reinstalling the gear box !

I dunno about that, I'm starting to have trouble getting into mine! Never had a problem before with it being selected accidentally. I'm also wondering whether the reverse selection difficulties are related to my drivetrain vibrations.....

the vibrations have a fix.
my gear selector was vibrating alot when in neutral. They had to perform a modification on the engine bay ( they "joined" the 2 cables from the gear selector toghether and lubrificated under the gear selector).
The car is now better than ever

My old 2.0D had the rough shifting but never got it fixed, my T5 has it now thinking about it
I remember once being at a right turn in the 2.0D, hot day, music turned up, I knocked into neutral as it was a big queue, somebody flashed their lights to let me through (to my surprise). I rushed the car into gear and jammed the gas, only to start going backwards!! The look on the womans face behind me was priceless .
Other than that I was ok with it The T5 has the reverse in a better place

Maybe little bit, but to be honest - NO.
Also my box is the one with push down and shift reverse.
No other problems with the car. In 2 months will have first maintenance, and will see how is the rest of it

However I have found this has happened more since the car is getting more miles on it. Now on 39000, so could be as things loosen up.
If this is the case, not looking forward to the end of my 4 year lease and 120,000 miles
