Rivets

Has anyone successfully used something other than rivets to mount door speakers?

There's no access to behind the hole so a nut and bolt won't work.

Some sot of screw might but I would worry about it backing out as it is not really biting into anything.

Ideas?

What kind of car are you talking about? I used nuts and bolts on my '01 V70, but there was only one place in each door to stick my arm though.

Or you could just use rivets. A cheap rivet gun is $3.99 at harbor freight, rivets are cheaper than that.

Also, crappy aftermarket rivets are much easier to drill out than the factory ones, if you ever need to do it again.
