My 73's interior is not up to par with the rest of the car. Original leather seats are hard and starting to crack a bit.
VLVWORLD sells upper and lower leather kits for about $333 each piece, in the original colors.
Questions: Anyone done this? Do-it-yourself difficulty? More cost-effective to just have a local upholsterer make up a new one?

Re: Reupholstering front seats in 1800ES (RonG)

I have no knowledge of the VLV seat kits, sorry. The original owner of my 1800S reupholstered the front seats himself, in leather, shortly before we bought the car, so I haven't had to deal with that myself.
I have repeatedly heard good things about Don Thibault's seats -- you send him your seat cushions and backs and he returns them like new. His website:
http://www.p1800.com/
We had a local upholstery shop do the seats on our 122S in 2002 or so. Cost was $500 for both fronts and the rear seat, including the center arm rest, and new padding. Those are vinyl, though, not leather.
