Hi guys can anyone help me please.
I have a 2005 S40 2.0D 'S' spec car, its a lease car and when I got it I was mainly doing town driving but now a promotion means I am doing alot of motorway.
I did not add the cruise control option to the car (steering wheel) on ordering. Now I have black blank bit where the cruise/radio buttons should be.
Can this be retrofitted??? Volvo UK and local stealer say no, but after years of misinformation from VW stealers I am not so sure....
Can anyone help me please?????
TIA

although i love volvo and i'll be most likely a volvo driver for a long time (volvo for life?:>) i do think their retrofittings are very bad.
its just not expandable and even if it would be, def not on a s40 as we dont get anything!
even something minute like foldable mirrors (electronically) i cant do so id say Cruisecontrol is a no no as well.
not sure for sure but id say no, and if you could, it would be expensive no doubt.
if its lease then can you not get it changed?

Cheers mate. This is what I had been thinking in particular with the ipod saga......
Can't get it changed as company car policy is crap and has just been extended to 4 years from 2 so I am pretty screwed.
Anyone else have any ideas? Or is this standard fit on all models in North America????

i assume that the cruise control consits of the "keypad" on the steering wheel + software.
Talk to your dealer. I know the "keypad" is easily obtained.

TBH I have cruise on mine and I can count the number of times I've usefully used it in the last 16 months on one hand. Most of my driving is motorway stuff and it's on ly at the dead of night where it get's used - too many morons who just pull out without looking around other wise - it takes too long to react with cruise on IME as it allows you to take your feet away from the pedals
What you really need for M'way driving is a flip down front number plate with a brace of missiles under it

Rich

Cruise control, I have it as it was standard. never use it. In fact my other car is 10 years old and I just tried to use the cruise last year and it didn't work. perhaps it has to be used within 5 yrs or it decides not to work.
