So I had a thought yesterday as I was washing the project car. We're planning on installing some Recaro seats in the front. I've already bought some used ones that need some work. They are black leatherette on the outer panels, and the centers are a light gray. Some of the leatherette panels are going to need replacing, and I'm thinking of replacing the center panels also, and doing matching center panels on the back seat.
I was driving the Y2K R at the Annapolis show and was thinking how cool that cross hatch stitching was. And I'm thinking of doing a similar setup on the Recaros and the back seat of the 245.
If it turns out well, I may redo the door panels to match. I can't afford to do Alcantara faux suede, but I know of a velour fabric which isn't that far off in looks, though it doesn't feel nearly as cool.
