I read what is posted but it still won't reset? Is ignition position II starting the car?<p>-Ignition position I <br>-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer <br>-Ignition position II. <br>Note! Turn the key to position II within 2 seconds. <br>-Hold the reset button for the trip meter pressed in until the original value has been reset. <br>Note! For all vehicles from the 2003 model year a general yellow lamp will light when the reset button must be released. <br>-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 4 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded <br>-If the trip meter is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds. <br>Note! If the reset button for the trip odometer is not released within 4 seconds, the service reminder indicator (SRI) is not reset.<br>

Someone just posted this and I put up a video. Now, to find it....<p><A HREF="http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z301/jtacchino/Reset%20Video/?action=view¤t=080708_122422.flv" TARGET="_blank"><IMG SRC="http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z301/jtacchino/Reset%20Video/th_080708_122422.jpg" BORDER="0"></A><p>This shows the timing a bit......<p>I reset the trip odometer, then turn the key to pos 1. <p>Press the odo reset and hold, turn key to pos 2. Keep holding the odo reset until the triangle flashes. <p>You can see when I press and turn to pos 2, the "Time for regular service" appears in the DIM. and the temp gauge comes up. <p>When the triangle flashes, release odo reset button, turn key to pos 0.<p>You can see when I turn on again to pos 2, the dim does not display the message.<p>And no, pos 2 is not starting the car, it is the one before that. 0 is off, 1 is radio only, 2 is all the lights, gauges come on, A/C starts etc.

Your video is great. I'll tell you what was screwing me up, maybe it'll help some one else. On my steering column (03 S80) the "key" positions are noted in Roman numerals, i.e.: l, ll, and lll. The off position (key comes out) is at l, the second position (what used to be called accessories) is at ll, the third position (ignition on but starter not engaged) is lll. <br>In order to successfully remove the service reminder message I had to start at what is actually the second position (ACC) or Roman numeral ll, hold the Odometer reset pin down and while holding it down go to position lll (ignition on, but starter not engaged) and wait for the beep. On my S80 the warning triangle does not light up. It worked!! Hope this is understandable and that it helps.
