Hi,
I am looking to replace my fluid.
I know the ATF is JWS 3309 spec which is Toyota Type-IV/ Mobile1 3309.
I know they work but I am looking for something better (maybe)
Have any one use other than these two?
Something like Motul Multi ATF, Redline D4, Royal Purple etc which are synthetic oil.

Also is the angle gear oil just a normal synethetic 75W90 GL5?
I am not looking for OEM Volvo oil because the Volvo angle gear oil is way more expensive Motul/Redline/Mobile1 etc 75W90.

Any equivalent oil for Haldex/AOC oil?
thank you

I've been actually running something else.. Valvoline MaxLife in combination with lucas oil additive in the trans. I've had this running in the car for over 25k now. My Transmission has been smoother with this than with the toyota fluid.. and tons cheaper too.. But I wouldn't say its "better"... but more about the same. The Maxlife is toyota compatible. IONS tried it too but I'm not sure if he still has it.. But I don't think anyone else has tried this. oh forgot to mention.. I didn't just do one drain and fill , it was a flush..

18 bucks for a gallon. When I did mine it was 16 bucks..

A little follow up:
I did a drain and fill with Fuchs Titan 4400.
The car shifts smoother than Mobile1 3309.
I also replaced the angle gear oil after 80000miles with Redline 75W90 GL5 gear oil and the car runs much smoother.
The difference is noticeable.
The old fluid is in deep dark color and it stinks.
Volvo's claim of life time fluid is a bad joke.

You say the car shifts smoother than with 3309. How old was the 3309?

A typical manufacturer's definition of "lifetime" is 100K miles. Yes, I like changing ATF every 50K.

Did you only replace the AG fluid, or did you also replace the bleeder filter?
