We've got a little over 65K on our V70. It's going in for service Thursday for the 60K and the 70K service, including replacing the auxilliary drive belt and the timing belt among other things. The person taking the service order mentioned that they could replace the water pump at that time since chances are it could fail by 100K or so. Anyone know the life expectancy of the 2.4T water pump? That seems a bit premature to me.

Re: Replacing the water pump? (bk3104)

FWIW, the shop did a pressure test and found the pump to be leaking so we've now got a new water pump, installed at 65,000 miles. Here's hoping we'll get more miles out of this one.

That sounds very early for a water pump to go. I know they replace the water pumps on Hondas with the t-belt change but this is the first time I am hearing of this with a Volvo.
