better to replace the whole shaft, you should be able to get a low mile 2nd hand one for $75 US or a new aftermarket one around $150 US

the passenger side (right side here in US) is easy, just remove axle bolt,2 bolts holding the carrier bearing, upper sway bar link, separate the balljoint and it should slide out easily, the driver side is a bit tougher because it uses a circlip to hold it in the gearbox

My indie says just buy the whole axle with cv boot already installed, FCP Groton sells them, that is where I got my 2 axles. JHW

For the left side, if you're throwing the shaft away, you can just yank on it and the shaft with circlip comes right out. But usually the CV joint comes apart at the same time, so you don't want to do that if you plan on re-using it.
