Is replacing spark plugs a job that can be done by a novice on an '01 T5? I just got the car back from the dealer for 75,000 mile service and ETM software upgrade and my car is still misfiring regularly at idle (had hoped ETM upgrade would solve problem). One of the recommendations on the sheet was possibly to replace spark plugs (although they didn't tell me until i picked it up and service was closed). I got the car at 62k so it's possibly the 60k service was never performed. I was hoping having it in they might be able to figure out if it had or not, but aprently not. Anyway are spark plugs a do-able job? If not do you think I could i just take it next door to tuffy?

doesn't sound too terribly hard. Any suggestions on a good place to buy parts? I found a website called eEuroparts.com that has a set of 5 plugs for $40. I should probably spring for the extra $8 for the spark plug gap tool you think? They are "genuine volvo" plugs so i would hope they would come set up correctly though.

I only notice it when stopped, but it feels almost like the rumble packs in video game controlers (if you know what i'm talking about) the steering wheel shakes and the dash lights dim a bit.

No they didn't clean the ETM, although that was my other thought on what the possible problem was. I know they extended the warantee to 200k miles on the ETM. I have to take it back in in a few weeks for another recall that they didnt' have the parts for, so i may have them check that at that time.

What do you recommend? Do you mean something like graphite or tefflon tape on the threads?
