Hey guys!
My lease is almost up on my R, and have been having a real hard time figuring out what to replace it with. I really didnt think Volvo had anything to offer, but have noticed that Volvo is giving $6250 off the S80's, along with another $1000 for being a return customer. Also, on edmunds it says I would be eligible for another $6500 off if I lease the vehicle through a third party and NOT through Volvo finance. With all this money off, I am thinking maybe it wont be such a bad deal. What do you guys think? Have you heard any good/bad things about the S80? I also can get Ford's A plan. Lastly, Volvo is offering 5 years of free maintaince on a 2009 S80. Any help/info would be great!
Thanks

Re: replacing my R with an S80 V8 AWD???? (gaddamit)

The additional $$$ to lease with a 3rd party are generally negated by the third partry's lower residual or money factor (or both). However, if payments are realtively close, the lower residual provides a better opportunity for buyout in the end. Take a drive and see if you like it. Remember, only YOU have to be happy with the choice.

In terms of the lease, I don't know.
In terms of the car itself, it's the only vehicle I'd consider for myself besides one of the R models.

Re: (BEJinFbk)

Hello there,
I have posted a similar message last week.
I decided not to trade the R for the S80V8 because althought the deal was fantastic, the V8 would never meet the R on performance.
The geartronic on the V8 is very slow and performance wise I would get bored after a couple months
If you dont consider performance , V8 should be very nice car to drive. Best thing about the V8 is the noise it makes. Really really nice...
greetz Joey

My mom has an S80, not the V8, but the 3.2. She absolutely loves everything about the car. I like it as well, it's very comfy and drives nice. Never driven the V8, but as jsalien24 stated, the performance will not be mistaken with the R's, but if you're looking for a nice looking car that's very comfortable, I think it would great.
