Get the AWD T5. Once you go AWD, you will never want FWD again. Right now you don't know what you're missing.
I think that would depend on the car. Went from RWD->AWD->FWD Volvos (as I could not find an AWD S40 T5 with right mileage/price) and the FWD one has been the best driver in terms of dynamics. ;)

Redesigned generally means a whole new car, like how the MKVII Golf is not the same as the MKVI Golf. MY2014 and after are called is refresh or mid model year change, nothing more.
2,200+ redesigned parts are different than an entirely redesigned car, no? I believe GV said the former. Due to a technicality, he is right. Whether those upgrades are meaningful enough to you is subjective, and for you to decide.

Then one can argue that every new model year for every new car that gets changes is an entirely redesigned car can't they? Like 2012 vs 2013 vs 2014 Honda Civic. Even Honda calls it a refresh, as do all manufacturers.
Maybe you didn't read my post? I'll let you do that now. ;)

You're comparing different models though from very different eras. If you had driven both an S40 T5 AWD and S40 T5 FWD, I have little doubt you would have preferred the AWD.
That's true. I would have preferred AWD on my S40, however, what is also true was what I was trying to argue: That just because you had an AWD car, does not mean you "can't go back". Which is why I said that it would depend on the car you're driving.
