Anyone know of a SS thread that details air filter replacement procedures? No luck with search mode.

Re: Replacing air filter, 2.4i engine (eagle2x)

If you need more help than that just ask and I can maybe post up some pics that may help. It really is quite easy.

Before posting, I tried that but did not pull very hard for fear of breaking the synthetic housing.

Just be really careful of three things:
1) be sure the airbox interior is clean before reinstalling the filter. Grit often falls to the bottom on the clean side when removing, and it can go straight into the engine from there.
2) be careful to get the rubber seal (#5 above) lined up correctly so it follows the ridges and isn't pinched or out of place. It's tricky, check twice.
3) don't use the screws to push the filter module "home". Line it up and push it by hand, then simply snug the screws.
Tom.

Re: Replacing air filter, 2.4i engine (tmtalpey)

Tom, thanks for the good advice. After removing the old filter, I noted some trash (small leaves) so I carefully vacuumed before installing the new filter. Also noted the tricky little gasket and its proper seat. The new K&N filter should be good to go for many miles.
