I want a little more oomph in my S60 as i hope to start racing this summer. First, i would like to replace the factory turbo with something faster- maybe upgrading and putting in a T5 turbo. Is factory the way to go? I've never done something quite like this on a car so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

i think the turbo will be direct fit but why dont get a 18T or 19T if you really want something faster. Also dont forget that you need a ecu upgrade for that.

Re: (volvos60t5x)

The engines are totally different. The T5 engine is a 2.3L engine with lower compression, which allows for the higher output turbo. The 2.4t is a 2.4 liter engine with higher compression, which allows for more torque up front, but limits the size of teh turbo.

You would be better off, money wise, selling the 2.4t and buying a T5, then modding from there.
