Replacement headrests from Stuttgart

Have Nordkap in my S60R and needless to say the geriatric kyphoscoliosis osteoporotic base model transplant headrests are just killing me.
Went here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33701
Bought Mercedes Benz headrests, sawed off 3 inches and voila, new comfortable, adjustable by tilting front-back, and LCD customizable headrests. Will post photos. The tan leather is a perfect match for the grey upholstery in the car.
Oh and for the WHIPS blasting gang, the headrest is part of the backrest and both move passively together during crashes.
My neck already feels better
Just FYI, the distance between the pillars is 6 inches. Not bad for a first mod heh? Gotta keep it simple i am leasing DAMMIT.

Interesting. Definitely would make fitting monitors much easier since it's flatter. Please post pics once they are on the car.

Sorry, I was just having fun with you in my previous post, although I can't even image what this swap mod looks like in-person. I look forward to seeing the photos, especially if you inset a couple of LCD panels.
So, how exactly would one go about removing the factory headrests? Do they lift out with a little force? Mine seem pretty rock-solid. Also can you put the factory headrests back in if needed? I would think the leasing company will balk if you return the car with different headrests installed.
- Tryg

Someone posted detailed photos of the trick.
There are little switches located roughly where the dip to acommodate the map pocket starts. Just slide your finger down an imaginary line down the center of each pillar (they are 6 inches apart centered from the side of headrest) and you wil will encounter a slight depression. Keep pulling at the headrest with your left, and if you hit the button it wil start coming out.
Love my MB mod, too tired and high on Cabernet to go to the garage now.

Doesn't this screw up the WIPS system? We have WIPS right?

With adjustable headrests this is often not the case.
