We are going to put the stock 15" rims back on our S70 and I need to get some tires.

I was looking at the:
Mich. Pilot XGT H4s
Bridgestone Turanza
Dunlop SP Sport A2

I appreciate feedback and experience. We are not looking for high performance, good wet traction, not too noisy and ability to handle a light snow.

thanks!

Re: Replacement all season tire recommendations for S70 (83caddy16v)

pilots are fun and grippy and they have better ratings temp, tread, etc. than the stock mxv4, but I think the gas mileage is better on mxv4 because they're harder...but mxv4 costs like 125 per at costco and the pilots are 99. just my H O.

my cousin changed also moved from mxv4 to pilots and noticed that his fuel economy dipped slightly as well.

but if you're not looking for anything special, i would get the the cheaper of the 3 tires that you're looking at because I don't think they're that different. I've had the Dunlop D60 A2 and they don't seem that different from the MXV4 either and they usually run 60 per.

thanks. I am going to try the Pilots. That's what I have on the 17" rims and I am pretty happy with them. Hopefully the 15" will act similarly. They are only a couple bucks more than the others.

Im not basing this on any experience, but several posts i have read about tires mention the yokohama Avid's they say they are inexpensive and perform better than the MXV4's. take a look at the tirerack.com site for tire comparisons .....this may help you

thanks. I ended up getting the Mich. Pilot XGT H4s. Pretty good so far. The Nitto Extremes that are currently on my R are terrible. I was sliding around wet roads all weekend...was fun until my wife said something. http://********************/smile/emsad.gif
