Re: Removing Grill (-=Kotten=-)

Welcome to Swedespeed. Lots and lots (and lots) of people here have changed out their grilles, and the process is discussed in many threads. If you search for "grille" (and probably "grill") and scan through the results, you should find what you need. Here's one thread where the process is discussed to get you started. I've not done it, but it's apparently pretty easy in the end. Good luck.

i just took mine off and it took about 2 minutes...
i used a flat metal spatula... like the kind that is 4 inches wide that you use for pancakes and stuff. There are 4 clips on both sides. Just slide the spatula (other people used a butter knife, but something wider makes it so much easier) in between the grille and the bumper and pry. Start with the bottom first... it seemed easier that way.

Re: (Dygitalpmp)

Studied some pics of the clips and I have to say it was damn easy to remove it....
Yesterday I looked at the heico manual. Evan bent a damn screwdriver and tried to loosen the bottom clips with it. NO LUCK!!
Easy 2min way to do it with NO tools except your hands. Take away thoose 4 small plastic clips things under the hood that holds the bumper. Reech in with your hand and press down the upper clips on the grill. Just jerk the grill abit to loosen the lower ones. Then just put back the clips that holds the bumper. 2-3min job. The bent screwdriver way is just plain awful....
Another recomendation. DONT buy the MS-Design Grill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its a friggin joke...cost 300$ but looks like it would cost at the most 30$...
Looks like low budget plastic crap...
The whole thing smells lowbudget plastic crap. It doest even have proper clips that fit. Just some plastic pins sticking out that you have to carv yourself so that they fit into the holes.....also the MS-Design badge is integreted into the grill. You CANT remove it without dameging the grill. Not like the Heico badge witch you screw on if you want it there....

yea... i know a bunch of us have the ones from Ebay..
I know of two sellers. I got mine from a company called Dubstop. They do accesories for VW's Volvo's, Audi's, etc. Another option is this guy selling them from the UK.
The Dubstop one is amazing... the grill is set towards the back of the frame and it definitely adds a lot to the look. Mine was $108 shipped.
i am going to put the original Volvo slash on it. I just need to trim it down a little with a Dremel.

that's your call.
Reading all your other posts, most of the things you ask are personal opinions that you just have to figure out...
that said, I got the black mesh with a chrome frame... some members have that. Some have all black. Just pick what you like best.

I changed out the grill a few days ago. It works best when it's really warm (i.e. after driving). What I did is I pushed my fingers through the grille and carefully but firmly pulled until the top clips came out, Then I was able to reach through the top opening and push the bottom clips out. Make sure the grille is very warm. It will prevent any breakage if you get too eager!!
