Does anyone know how to remove the grill Volvo badge? I've looked quite extensively but am a little weary of breaking something.

Oh, and I hope I posted this in the right place, being new and all...

it is in the right place...
Are you talking about the VOLVO badge alone or the badge and slash?

I am not positive, but on my s80, I know if you remove it, it will look like crap. You will be able to tell that the slash was there. There is alternatives for the grill, from what I have seen, mostly painting them.
Xenophobic (youll see later that this guy is a genious)

Quick Brick

Hope this helps,
"copeland" the "faux R owner"

Re: Removing grill badge (frogsthatmoo)

Yes, as Copeland correctly stated, you can remove it, but I wouldn't do it permanently. There are 2 big ugly snap features plus a "bellybutton" in the center, left on the grill ... it is not just a grate.
To just remove the slash, you could just pull ... I would however suggest removing the grille and helping the little snap tab features disengage from the back.
Lastly, if you are asking about removing the Volvo emblem from the slash ... forget it. It is 2 way stickied in there so well I really doubt you would do it with out completely destroying the slash and the emblem in the process. . Sorry.

Re: Removing grill badge (Quick Brick)

Removing the grill is rather easy and this will be the best way to go. Pulling on the badge is not a good idea. Push the plastic post out from the back of the grill (a screw driver will work fine).
Copeland is right though, you can tell that it has been removed. The pattern is disturbed by the mounting points of the emblem.
To put the emblem back on, grab an 8mm socket and press the lock washers over the post until tight. You should be able to reuse the lock washers (before I made my mesh grill, I had painted the inside of the V70 grill... I had to repaint, so I reused the washers a couple times without issue.)
PS- to remove the grill, there are six plastic clips that hold the top of the bumper on. Just press in the center to pop the clips and remove. Just pull the top of the bumper out enough so you can see the clips that hold the grill in. Use a screwdriver to release the grill from the top clips from behind the bumper. Pull the grill out from the front of the bumper enough to fit a long screwdriver between the grill and nose (careful of your paint, the clips from the grill will rest on the paint, be sure you don't scratch it, masking tape will protect it if you are aprehensive) Release the clips on the bottom with the screwdriver and you're done!

Here's what you would be left with if you tried to "debadge" it...

This is what their cut and clip installation instructions would result in:
