As part of the repaint of the door on my S90, the local body shop handling the repairs has asked me if I could pull from VIDA the full official procedure for removal of the door mirrrors, given they are mounted on the doorpanel and not the front quarter as so many cars or previous Volvos were.
I was surprised that VIDA calls for removing the full inside door cassette and windows lift mechanism because of a clipped cable tie... Seems super inefficient design-wise...
I could find only two DIY online covering it, one for the XC40, and one for the XC60. XC40 mirror doesn't have a clipped cable tie inside so its just a matter of removing the inner door panel...
The XC60 one looks the same, cable tie inside and all. The guy doing it was able to remove the cable tie by just loosening the woofer and by reaching by touch inside to unclip the cable tie, and then proceed with pulling out the cable and mirror.
Couldn't find anything on the 90 cars, but wondering if someone has have the need to replace one of their side mirrors, and can confirm this simplier method can be applied... I'm trying to help the body shop, and trying to limit the chances they mess something up while doing the job...
