Is there a trick to removing the snorkel from the air box on a 2006 V70R? I have removed the K&N filter and the 3 bolts that hold the air box to various mounting points and the two bolts that secure the snorkel to the air box, but I can't get the snorkel to separate from the air box and I did not want to try and remove the entire snorkel as it seems to be secured by another 3 bolts to the front of the car .. and perhaps others that I can not see or access.
Thanks in advance.

Remove the bonus at the front of the snorkel accordian thing and it should move enough to detach from the box.

However, if you're servicing the maf, there's no need to remove anything other than the maf sensor itself, via the two 5pt torx security screws on top.

There are two tabs towards the outside on the top and bottom that clip into the air box part where the 2 screws are.. Sqeeze the snorkle together to release the tabs. It takes some pulling too.

The three screws come off the front and the snorkle slides back out from above the radiator.

What size 5pt torx security bit is needed for MAF removal

Thanks for the pointer. Do you know what size 5pt torx security bit is required. It looks like a T25, or at least that is what the other four 6pt torx (non-security) screws are on the airbox. Since this will probably be my only need for a 5pt tamper resistant torx bit, I do not want to buy a complete set .. only to find out that the size needed was not in the set.

Cleaning just the MAF sensor with CRC MAF Sensor cleaner did the trick for several hundred miles and then the P0101 returned. Cleared the CEL, cleaned the sensor again, and all seems to be running fine for the time being with no pending codes. Thanks again to the posters. On another aspect, my MAF Sensor does not seem to have any external resistors (although the diagram on the sensor shows them). Is this an issue if I need to finally replace the MAF Sensor as most that I have seen on line seem to have the resistors.
