Re: remove the blanket (FRANCIS)

I'm about to do mine. Is there any special tricks on taking it off, or is it strait foward?

Re: remove the blanket (R broski)

It is very easy--just pop out the clips (which can be done by hand) and it's off in less than 5 min. It can also quickly go back on if you change your mind.

Re: remove the blanket (kmagnuss)

I took mine off about a week ago. I think im gonna put it back on. The gain in a little noise is'nt worth it taking up space in my garage! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/biggrin.gif" BORDER="0">

Re: remove the blanket (ATXS60R)

I took mine off but really didn't notice a big difference, so I replaced it.

Re: remove the blanket (n23)

take off the airbox cover too if you really wanna hear it. i've had just the blanket removed with the airbox cover still on and it was not as noticeable. the only thing i'm not sure of is how much it affects performance with the hot air and all especially in the summer now. there was a thread on this a few months ago

I do like more turbo spool noise, but I simply have nowhere to put the thing aside from the trash, which I'm wary of doing. So it stays on.

Re: remove the blanket (djkronik57)

I just removed mine earlier today (thanks to this thread) and the 100-degree heat... Didn't make much of a difference. The wastegate tweak made more of a difference in the noise of the turbo spool.

Re: remove the blanket (rollerskatenate)

I removed mine as well, I alo removed the rubber strip under the hood and currently running open airbox with IPD intake and huge AEM Dryflow and couldn't be happier in the summer time.
