Re: Remove side mirror covers (redalrt)

I refinished mine last week, I took off the whole mirror and taped it off. BTW http://www.automotivetouchup.com/ got me a great color match

Start in the upper outside corner with a bonetool (I used a stubby flat head wrapped in a microfibre towel), put it between the cover and the textured black plastic, and pry the cover away (I used a subtle twisting motion. You'll see the cover come out a bit, then following that line move toward the car doing the same motion. Once you get the top part out enough to get a hold of it, just pull up and towards the front of the car.
I did both in about 3 minutes after speaking to a Volvo tech for about 20 seconds. It's really straight forward, and I didn't break ANY clips. You really don't have to force it, so just be gentle. If you're really anal like me, you can even tape off the mirror caps with painter's tape before you try to pry them.

My wife removed hers from the S60 in less than 2 seconds...backing out of the garage too close to the door frame. New one painted Silver #426 was $120
