I just got back from my dealer (Stillman Volvo, a Swedespeed sponsor) getting my power locks and one touch windows looked at. While I was there, I asked about getting the window down function via the key fob added. I was told definitively that this feature is only available on 2004.5 models and has been discontinued. I know this has been discussed here in the past and has been added by some. Is the dealer wrong as I suspect? Is there a software update I can show them to get this done? Thanks!

Re: Remote window down function (danbanana)

How does this feature work? Just hold down the unlock button or what? I hadn't even heard of this feature.

Thanks guys....you confirned what I thought. I'm going to have to call my dealer or find another dealer to get this done. It's a shame that some dealers know less than we do, huh?

Re: Remote window down function (Seven)

I have a 2005. Windows down did not work when car bought. I had dealer install an "update", or software "fix" and it now works, from my FOB also.

I have a 2006 with ukmatt's (1) and (2) enabled. At the FDC when we dropped our volvo off to come home, we found the page in the manual that states how it should work, and had them flash the ecu at the center to get it to work. <p>My only caveat. When I do it, the drivers side rear window won't go down. <p>When my wife does it, it works for all 4 windows. Maybe it just needs a ladies touch <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0">

Re: Remote window down function (CINCYFAN)

For the window up function by pressing and holding the drivers door lock button, is it by pressing the unlock or lock position? Thanks.<br>

By the way, I tried it from the passenger's side and it also closes all four windows (let's just hope that my passengers who don't like to ride with the windows down don't get hold of this post <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0"> )

Re: Remote window down function (Seven)

We just bought a 2006 v5 about 3 weeks ago. I had the car infor some stuff today so I asked about the windows down/up feature and was told that it is not available on the 2006 cars. I'm guessing that's BS and they couldn't figure out how to do it?<p>I've gotten really used to the feature in our VW and MINI.

Seven - what dealer are you using? I'm out on the main line...only one choice out that way.

They are quite far from me, however, so I started going to Fort Washington Volvo which is convenient for me since I work in Hatboro. They also have Saturday service hours which I like.
